Le Coin des Saveurs: A Delightful Business Lunch to Remember
On March 12th, 2025, I had the pleasure of hosting a business lunch at Le Coin des Saveurs alongside my Dutch colleagues. Opting to skip the set menu, we decided instead to explore the à la carte options. As the photos illustrate, the dishes we selected were nothing short of outstanding.
We began with a stunning piece of beef accompanied by béarnaise sauce, an emblem of simplicity elevated to perfection. The beef, cooked to a precise 50°, served with a shallot and red wine jus, tender beef cheek, and a velvety siphon potato, was beautifully complemented by peas, carrots, and a subtle touch of onion powder. Each bite showcased a harmony of flavors that was both satisfying and sophisticated.
For dessert, Le Coin des Saveurs delivered masterpieces that rival works of art. The chocolate creation with peanuts and banana dazzled us with its rich yet balanced sweetness, while the candied pears adorned with granola, red wine caramel, a Fourme d’Ambert siphon, and an olive oil lace tuile redefined indulgence. Both desserts were a testament to the chef’s creativity, with the latter earning my personal recommendation as a dish that deserves to become a signature offering.
As always, the ambiance at Le Coin des Saveurs was impeccable, striking the perfect balance between elegance and warmth. This culinary gem in the Verviers area continues to uphold its reputation for high-quality cuisine and an inviting atmosphere. The phenomenal beef, light and flavorful béarnaise sauce, and those exquisite desserts ensure this lunch will be remembered fondly.
I must add, this has been a lucky week for desserts, as I also had the chance to savor another remarkable treat at a different venue (but that’s a story for another time). If you find yourself in the Verviers region, Le Coin des Saveurs is an absolute must-visit for any occasion, be it business or leisure.

Having previously enjoyed their exquisite take-away options during the challenging COVID-19 times, we were thrilled to be invited back by friends for a very special occasion. This time, it was the Rotary Club Liège Nord Est’s change of command lunch, and the celebration was nothing short of perfect.
A Stunning Setting: The Terrace Experience
Upon arrival, we were welcomed into a beautifully privatized section of the restaurant, an enchanting terrace complete with a roof and a serene pond filled with fish. The atmosphere was distinctly South-East Asian, providing a tranquil and exotic backdrop for the event. The gentle trickle of water and the lush greenery set the stage for an afternoon of relaxation and indulgence.
Culinary Excellence: A Menu to Remember
The menu curated for the occasion was a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to quality and creativity. Every dish was crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients, resulting in a meal that was both delightful and memorable. The service was impeccable, with staff expertly pairing each course with wines that complemented the flavors perfectly.
The Feast Unveiled
Starter:
We started with an intriguing and delicious starter of squid ink spaghetti, accompanied by vongole, espuma aioli, octopus, and Spanish chorizo. The rich, deep flavors of the squid ink spaghetti melded beautifully with the briny vongole and the delicate espuma aioli, creating a dish that was both visually stunning and a joy to the palate.
Main Course:
The main course featured veal from Lothar Vils, prepared Wellington-style with a confit, and served with a truffled foie gras jus. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the accompanying sweet potato puree and young vegetables provided a harmonious balance of textures and tastes. It was a sophisticated and hearty dish that left a lasting impression.
Dessert:
To finish, we were treated to a decadent Snickers-inspired dessert. It combined rich chocolate with almonds, candied cherries with kirsch, and a creamy morello cherry component. The dessert was a delightful interplay of sweet and tart flavors, offering a satisfying conclusion to an extraordinary meal.

One of the highlights of our experience was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that our glasses were never empty and that each dish was presented with care and professionalism. The wine pairings were particularly noteworthy, with each selection enhancing the flavors of the dishes in a way that demonstrated a deep understanding of the culinary arts.
