Belgium Profondeville L’Eau vive

Michelin 2 stars restaurant for my star… Every year I like to go to a one or two Michelin stars restaurant including a nice place to stay overnight, allowing wine tasting as well.

In 2016, I elected for L’Eau vive in Profondeville and stay at L’Espace Medissey that belongs to the same owner than the restaurant and literally 3 minutes drive is enough to go from one to the other.

We did book for 2 for my wife’s birthday and so spent the week-end there. We always take that opportunity to enjoy both Valentine’s day and her birthday to go for such a romantic break, just the two of us.

It was our first time in l’Eau vive and for sure it will not be our last.

We could benefit from the Valentines day menu and we enjoyed it from A to Z. They could accommodate my neutropaenic diet and still made it a fantastic culinary experience. You may ask about the price… aligned with what to expect for a Michelin 2 stars restaurant.

Both my wife and I loved the courses and the outstanding service and part of this the proximity of the Espace Medissey  where we did spend the night in a suite with all bells and whistles as you can see in the pictures! The breakfast was also good quality before driving back home.

A quick hint, during the service, take the opportunity to go outside at the forefront and you will see the folks working in the kitchen… It is worth the check as it is a real dance to see the discipline and professionalism! (left side of the house ;-))

I highly recommend the place and worth the detour wherever you are in Belgium! A real slam dunk if around.
