While in Gevrey-Chambertin we took the opportunity to visit Beaune and I must admit the Hospices de Beaune were breathtaking.
Of course, more pics are visible here really nice ones actually! Of course it included a quick lunch in front of the hospices. I won’t comment on this place as it is a touristic place not living with the local folks… we knew where we were going so nothing to complain about when the choice is deliberate!
After this nice moment, it became time to move to the Cluny Abbey nearby. Again more pics are visible here.
It is really nice but go to the movies and explanations about how it was as now it really looks sad in the sense that this building that was magnificent is now reduced to a small proportion…
On our way back to Gevrey-Chambertin, we had a pit-stop in Chateau de Meursault which was highly disappointing… clearly a trap for tourists coming in coaches… the price to taste is prohibitive and you do not talk with people working the wine itself but experimented sellers…
