After an incredible journey spanning 36 years, 3 months, and 10 days, the time has come for me to bid farewell to Shell and begin an exciting new chapter focused on transmission with SDB-Plus. As I reflect on my time with this iconic organization, I am overwhelmed with pride, joy, and gratitude for the experiences, challenges, and opportunities that shaped my career and personal growth.

A Journey Through Transformational Projects

Throughout my career, I had the privilege of contributing to some of Shell’s most transformative initiatives. Projects like GSAP, GBS, SAP Delivery, Y2K preparation, Euro implementation, and Shell Energy Integration were pivotal moments that taught me resilience, collaboration, and the importance of innovation. These projects were not just milestones in Shell’s evolution—they were opportunities to work with extraordinary teams, fostering connections that extended far beyond the workplace.

The People Behind the Success

It’s often said that it’s the people who make a workplace truly special, and that has certainly been my experience at Shell. The culture of collaboration, mutual respect, and shared purpose created an environment where I felt supported, motivated, and inspired every day. I am deeply grateful to my colleagues for their unwavering support, hard work, and camaraderie throughout this journey.

Even during personal challenges—facing leukemia, a stroke, and burnout—the support I received from my colleagues was unparalleled. These moments taught me the importance of resilience and reinforced my appreciation for the incredible people who surrounded me.

A Global Adventure

One of the most enriching aspects of my career has been the opportunity to live and work in different countries, including the UK, Malaysia, and the Netherlands, and to visit many more across all continents. Meeting talented individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds expanded my worldview and allowed me to forge lifelong friendships.

Looking Ahead

As I move forward into this new chapter with SDB Plus, I carry with me the lessons, memories, and connections I have built over the years. While I am excited about the future, I remain deeply interested in Shell’s continued growth and transformation. I hope to stay connected with the many colleagues and friends I’ve made along the way, and I would love to hear about your adventures—both personal and professional.
