Belgium De Panne Hostellerie Le Fox

I did not go to the Hostellerie Le Fox for a very long time 20ish  years and thought that it might be a great opportunity to surprise my wife for her birthday to have a weekend out to the Belgian Coast and enjoy this Michelin 2 stars restaurant. Conveniently they also have an hotel so that we also can enjoy their wine list 🙂

As the pictures below can show, fantastic atmosphere, great food, I mean exquisite actually, a service at the top and a special attention for the birthday and all needed changes due to my health condition!

Rooms have been refurbished and are spacious with all you need in terms of amenities. On top of this, do not forget you are in De Panne a Belgian town on the North Sea, close to the French border. It’s known for its beach and for nature reserves like Westhoek, where dunes and grasslands shelter migratory birds and Highland cattle. The top of Kykhill Dune Park offers views of the century-old Dumont Quarter and the sea. De Panne is at one end of the Coastal Tram, which runs the entire length of the Belgian coast, east to Knokke-Heist as per Google 🙂

Both dinner and breakfast were great, not one dish was to take away from the menu, it was a real joy here and definitely worth the 500 km trip for a couple of days.

I do highly recommend the place and bundle with the hotel so that you do not need drink and drive but just take the lift 😉 Yes the wines are also to die for and magically pairing with our dishes… really looking forward to being back there!

Also gave me the opportunity to visit my cousin I had not seen since 1993… This one is for you Albert!
