It was definitely a challenge to get a nice place for New Year’s eve in Belgium as around 80% of the restaurants could not open due to pandemic situation.
Originally we were supposed to meet friends in Dubai but for the same reasons that first plan died in December.
Luckily early December I could get this booking done… One Michelin star Italian restaurant in Brussels!
Fortunately i still have my status and could get a nice room at the Hilton Grand Place so that we could have a nice experience just the two of us.

A nice place in a nice neighbourhood, it was really quiet and we could get in early so that we were sure we could get out at 11PM as per COVID rules.

Unbelievable to meet the chef, for sure a gifted chef who can make such a menu that was a real delight for a New Year’s Eve in difficult circumstances… creativity, best ingredients and top skills are the components of a successful event.
Clearly we found ourselves privileged to spend that beautiful night there.

And now… the heart of it! What a great experience we had… definitely glad we could get there on such short notice.
It was simply flawless, all courses were outstanding, even the pigeon (I don’t know why they all do pigeons, I usually hate this…) was fantastic.
Look at the variety and the beauty in each plate, the chef could really show how sophisticated and tasteful Italian cuisine can be, many thanks for this!

As you could understand this was a great New Year’s even in an exquisite environment and by the way kudos to the all who are working there as the service was to the point, with a smile and sense of humour.
Please if in Brussels, do not hesitate and get surprised, definitely worth it!
