France Bordeaux Chez Dupont

Our concierge in Chateau Grand Barrail in Saint Emilion, gave us the hint to go there for a casual lunch while visiting Bordeaux.
he was indeed right.
I will publish a blog post on the Castle a bit later as it is a blast but in the mean time you look at the Royal Suite we had this weekend but also the service we got!

And as you can see you can’t miss it and on top of that the other street corner is their Bistrot

You can choose between the menu or a la carte or even mix both, as I did.

As you can see, you already have a nice choice to pick from on the daily menu but I really wanted to try their Gambas in tempura.

These gambas in tempura and soja were simply delicious and were telling me I would not be disappointed with what is coming next i.e. chicken for me and salad for Isabelle.

Really nothing to complain about except that I still don’t understand how comes they don’t automatically supply chips and mayo with the chicken.

More seriously now, the salad was fresh and tasted and the grilled peas with bacon were also top with the chicken so we could go to the dessert with a smile.

The Pavlova was kind of minimalist but did the job as we were after a light lunch during our 15 km walk across town…
As you can see below, we were happily surprised by this place and can only recommend it as for such a price in such city in July to get quality food is not easy!
I would also like to highlight the professionalism of the waiters and waitresses there as they were on of their tasks (extras due lock down measures) and always with a smile and sense of humour.
Really a pleasant meal in a nice environment.
