As a seasoned enthusiast of culinary delights and gastronomic adventures, I often find myself seeking out unique dining experiences. Recently, a friend repeatedly recommended La Table de Manon, a charming restaurant nestled in Durbuy, and I decided it was high time to see for myself what all the fuss was about. With a little planning, I secured a lunchtime reservation for a Thursday, knowing that the menus for lunch and dinner are delightfully identical.

Located a convenient 45-minute drive from my home, the decision to opt for lunch eliminated the need for overnight accommodation. This region, while not a frequent haunt of mine, has previously impressed me with gems like Le Cor de Chasse in Weris and Le Coq au Champs. Arriving at La Table de Manon, the welcoming ambiance immediately set a positive tone for the visit. The entrance, akin to the start of a guided tour, opens into an elegantly designed space exuding tranquility. We opted for a table on the terrace, an excellent choice that placed us near a garden reflecting the Alsatian roots of the cheffe.

The menu, a testament to creative culinary artistry, began with an appetizers that set a high bar.

Followed by a lobster paired with a potato salad, crunchy beans, and peach infused with Vadouvan flavor.

The journey continued with an open lobster ravioli, rich in arabica lobster cream, caramelized onion, and buckwheat.

Each dish that followed—spinach cake with lobster and sorbet,

a flambéed lobster stew with Ardent pastis, seasonal vegetables, and lobster gnocchi—was a harmonious blend of flavors and textures.

The culinary experience peaked with a platter of aged local cheeses accompanied by toasted bread,

and an exceptional dessert invitation

followed by pan-fried yellow fruits, Génépi, Savoie biscuit, and Marcona almonds.

The quality of creativity and execution throughout the meal was nothing short of outstanding. Our palates were treated to the refined tastes of an Alsatian cheffe with a touch of Brittany, catering impeccably to Belgian preferences.

Service at La Table de Manon deserves special mention. Delivered with a smile, kindness, and a touch of humor, it significantly enhanced our dining experience. Despite our outdoor seating, which exposed us to some road traffic noise, the overall ambiance remained pleasant. This minor inconvenience paled in comparison to the exceptional dining experience.
A noteworthy highlight was the perfectly balanced sugar level in the desserts—a thoughtful consideration for diabetic diners like myself. Such attention to detail in crafting a menu that is both indulgent and considerate of dietary needs speaks volumes about the cheffe’s dedication to her craft.

La Table de Manon rightfully holds its first Michelin star and shows great promise for further accolades. The cheffe is clearly on an upward trajectory, and her creative universe is one that many will enjoy exploring. For anyone visiting Durbuy and its environs, I wholeheartedly recommend booking a table at La Table de Manon. It promises an experience that will not disappoint.
